I don’t believe we’re broken.

To say that pain or suffering can break us,
That illness or injury proves we’re flawed
Is to say that the One who made us is
Smaller and less powerful than all of those,
That He made pretty good and wanting
Instead of very good and whole.

Nothing that God has made can be
Weaker than what He hasn’t.

You may feel broken,
You may feel shattered,
Your body may confuse you,
And life may leave you reeling,
But that does not mean you are broken.

It means you can feel that way
While the fact of your resilience
Proves the beautiful opposite:

You’re very much
Whole, still.
