Because no one’s told you you’re whole.

Because no one’s told you you’re strong.
You only think you’re ugly
Because no one’s told you you’re beautiful.
You only think you can’t
Because no one’s told you you can.

You only believe the lies
Because you’ve never heard the truth.
And deficits of truth lead us
To accept the lies in its absence.

...Maybe no one’s telling you the truth
Because it’s so obvious, they assume you know:
You’re the whole, strong, beautiful you
Who can.
