TEXT

How can anyone ever be gone
When we can still hear their voice and their laugh
And feel their warmth
And know they’re about to walk in the room
And see them clear as day?

Can absence really undo
Decades of presence?
Are lives not louder than silence?
Is love not longer than departure?
Could pieces of us not remain in more than memory?
Is the very air not stamped with our existence?

I don’t think we ever truly leave,
So no one’s ever truly gone,
And we’re truly together
One way or another
For as long as love lives on,
And on.
